QR codes and passwords

A QR code for a link or your Wi-Fi, a password that is very hard to guess. Generated on your device, never stored.

QR codes and passwords, made on your device

The QR code generator makes codes for links, Wi-Fi networks, contact cards, e-mails, phone numbers, SMS, locations and events, in your colors and with a logo in the middle, as PNG, SVG, JPG or PDF. A built-in scan test checks that the code reads before you print it. The QR reader decodes codes from a photo, a screenshot or the camera and shows what is inside: a link you can open, a Wi-Fi network you can copy, a contact you can save.

The password generator draws random characters or words from the browser's cryptographic generator, with length, character sets and passphrase options, and shows how long the result would take to crack.

What is stored

Nothing. The text in a QR code, the picture you scan and the passwords you generate exist only on your screen; they are never sent to a server or written to a log. The optional "remember" features (your last logo, your settings) live in your browser's own storage and have a delete button.

Questions

Do the QR codes expire?
No. A code made here contains the data itself, not a link to this site, so it does not depend on this site and needs no account.
Is a generated password really random?
Yes. It comes from the browser's cryptographic random generator (the same source TLS uses), not from a predictable formula, and it is never stored.
Can the reader open my camera?
Only when you press the camera button, and the picture is processed on your device. Closing the page stops the camera.
