What the PDF tools do
Compress re-encodes the images inside a PDF at the size they are shown, which is where most of the weight sits, and keeps the text sharp. Merge joins files in the order you set, keeping bookmarks and form fields. Split cuts a file into pages, ranges or chunks of N pages; Rotate fixes sideways scans; Organize lets you drag, rotate and delete pages one by one. Sign places a drawn, typed or photographed signature; JPG to PDF and PDF to JPG go both ways between pictures and pages; OCR turns a scan into text you can search and copy. Unlock removes a password you know, Protect adds one with AES-256 or limits printing and copying, Add page numbers numbers the pages in the position and format you choose, and PDF to PNG and PNG to PDF do the same as their JPG twins with lossless PNG images.
Encrypted files are unlocked locally with qpdf when you give the password; damaged files are reported by name instead of stopping the batch.
Limits and privacy
Up to 20 files of 200 MB each per batch; a 500-page document is fine. Everything is parsed and rewritten by pdf-lib and PDF.js in a Web Worker on your device. No page is uploaded, no copy is kept, and the network meter under the result shows the 0 B transferred while the tool worked.

Questions
- Will compression blur the text?
- No. Text and vector drawings are untouched; only the embedded images are downscaled and re-encoded. Choose "Print quality" to keep images at 150 DPI or more.
- Can I use a password-protected PDF?
- Yes. The tool asks for the password and removes the protection locally with qpdf before working on the file. Files that only restrict printing or copying open without a password.
- Is the signature legally valid?
- A drawn signature placed on the page is an image, like a scanned signature. It is accepted wherever a scanned signature is; it is not a certificate-based digital signature.
