Sign a PDF

Draw your signature, drop it on the right spot, and download the signed document. The PDF and the signature never leave your device.

Updated November 5, 2026

How it works

  1. Drop the PDF you need to sign.
  2. Draw your signature on the pad (or choose a picture of it), then place it on the page: drag to move, pull the corner to resize.
  3. Sign and download. Add it on more pages if you need.

Three ways to make a signature

Draw it on the pad with a finger, a stylus or the mouse; on a phone this feels closest to pen on paper. Type your name and it is drawn in a script style on your device. Or use the signature you already have: choose a picture, or take a photo of it on white paper with the phone camera, and tick Remove the paper background so only the ink stays. Initials can be made the same way for pages that need them.

Placing it right on the page

Drag the signature to the line, pull a corner to size it, and use Copy to pages or Copy to every page when a contract wants it on each sheet. Add date puts today's date next to it and Add text lets you fill a name, a place or a box on a form without another tool. Tick Remember my signature on this device and it is kept in this browser only, never sent anywhere, ready next time; Forget removes it.

What kind of signature this is

The result is the same as signing a printout and scanning it: an image of your signature placed on the page, which many everyday documents accept, from leases and consent forms to delivery notes. It is not a certificate-based electronic signature, so where a law or a counterparty requires one, use a qualified service. One file of up to 200 MB at a time; the PDF and the signature stay on your device. Keep the unsigned original, and consider Protect PDF to limit editing of the signed copy.

Why people use it

  • Free, no account

Every tool is free, with no sign-up, no e-mail address and no limit on how often you use it.

  • Your files stay on your device

The browser opens the file and processes it in memory, on your device. Nothing is uploaded, so nothing can be kept, leaked or looked at.

  • No watermark

The result is yours as it is: no watermark, no branding, no trial version.

  • Any device

A phone, a tablet or a computer with a current browser is enough: no app to install, no software to update.

  • Works offline after the first visit

The browser keeps the pages and their engines, so a tool you have opened once keeps working without a connection.

  • Open-source engines

The code that does the work is open-source software, named on the Licences page, running as WebAssembly in your browser.

Why it is private

Everything you type or drop here is handled by your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded. To verify, open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and use the tool: you will see no request carrying your data.

While a file is being processed, the counter under the result shows the page's network traffic: 0 requests and 0 B for your data.

How to check it yourself, step by step

What you can check yourself

Open your browser's developer tools on the Network tab before you drop a file: while the tool works you will see no request carrying your data, and the counter under every result shows the page's own measurement.

The site sets no cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Anonymous usage counts and error reports without file names are the only things that leave the page, as the privacy policy describes.

Every change goes through thousands of automated tests in three browser engines, including a guard that fails a test if a single byte of a file leaves the page.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a legally binding signature?
It adds an image of your handwritten signature to the document, like signing a printout and scanning it. It is not a certificate-based digital signature (PAdES); for that you need a qualified certificate and dedicated software.
Where is my signature stored?
Nowhere. It exists only on this page while you use it; reload and it is gone. Nothing is uploaded.
Can I use a photo of my signature?
Yes. Choose a PNG, JPG or WebP; a PNG with a transparent background looks best. Crop it close to the ink first with the crop tool.
Can I sign several pages?
Yes. Place the signature on each page you need; all of them are stamped when you download.
Can I sign a PDF on my iPhone or Android phone?
Yes, in the browser. Draw with your finger on the pad, drop the signature on the page and download; no app, no account, nothing uploaded.
Can I type my signature instead of drawing it?
Yes. Type your name, pick a style and it is rendered as a script signature; you can still resize and move it like a drawn one.
Can I add the date or fill in text?
Yes. Add date stamps today's date, and Add text places a text box you can type into, for names, places or form fields.
Can I use a photo of my signature taken with the phone?
Yes. Take a photo lets you shoot it directly, then Remove the paper background keeps only the ink so the paper does not show as a white box.
Can someone remove my signature from the signed PDF?
As with any scanned signature, a PDF editor could take the image out. Keep the original, send the signed copy by a channel you trust, and use Protect PDF if you want to restrict editing.

Install it as an app

Chrome, Edge and Android browsers offer to install this site from the address bar or the menu; on iPhone use Share, then Add to Home Screen. It opens like an app, keeps working offline and still processes everything on your device.
