Compress image to 50 KB
Fifty kilobytes is the limit of many application forms, exam portals and chat avatars. Reaching it from a modern photo means both a lower JPEG quality and fewer pixels. This preset targets 50 KB and does the two in the right order: quality first, so the image keeps its full size when it can, then a gentle downscale only when it must.
Options
The processing happens on your device. Nothing is uploaded and the size shown next to the result is the real size of the file you download.
Tips
- Crop first. A passport-style crop of a phone photo is a tenth of the pixels, so it reaches 50 KB with far better quality than the full frame.
- For documents and screenshots, WebP at 50 KB keeps text readable better than JPEG does.
- Check the limit's unit: if the form says 50 KB and rejects a 50 KB file, it probably counts 50,000 bytes; use the 100 KB page's advice and leave a margin.
Why it is private
Everything you type or drop here is handled by your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded. To verify, open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and use the tool: you will see no request carrying your data.
Frequently asked questions
- Will a 50 KB photo print well?
- No. 50 KB is a screen and upload size. Keep your original for printing; the tool never changes it.
- Can I compress many photos to 50 KB at once?
- Yes, drop up to 50 files; each is processed to the target and you download them together as a ZIP.
