Compress PDF to 200 KB

A 200 KB limit is common on application portals, bank forms and HR systems. Text-only PDFs are already under it; what pushes a PDF over are scans and photos. This preset targets 200 KB: the tool starts with the recommended level (150 DPI images), checks the size, and moves to the strong level (100 DPI) only if needed. Text, fonts and vector graphics are never touched.

Options

Compression level

The whole process runs in your browser; the document is not uploaded and the exact result size is shown before you download.

Tips

  • Scans: a single A4 page scanned at 300 DPI in colour is often 1–2 MB; at the strong level it lands around 100–150 KB and stays readable.
  • If the file is still above 200 KB, split it into the pages you need with Split PDF and compress those.
  • Forms with many pages and no images cannot shrink much; the size is in the fonts, which we keep intact so the form stays fillable.

Why it is private

Everything you type or drop here is handled by your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded. To verify, open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and use the tool: you will see no request carrying your data.

Frequently asked questions

What if 200 KB cannot be reached?
You get the strongest result the tool can produce and its size; nothing is cropped or removed to force the limit.
Is the text still searchable?
Yes. Only images are re-encoded; the text layer is untouched.
