Crop a passport photo (35×45 mm)

Most EU countries, including Romania, Spain and Portugal, ask for a 35×45 mm photo for passports, ID cards and driving licences, and online forms usually want it at 300 dpi, which is exactly 413×531 pixels. This page presets that ratio and size: drag the frame so the head sits in the middle with some space above the hair, press Crop, and the JPG comes out at the right pixels, ready to upload to the form.

The crop is cut in your browser from the full-resolution picture; nothing leaves your device. For a 600 dpi file switch the size to Passport at 600 dpi (827×1063). The frame can also be nudged with the arrow keys for a precise alignment.

Tips

  • Take the picture against a plain, light background with even light and a neutral expression; the crop cannot fix shadows.
  • The face should take about 70–80% of the frame's height; most authorities want the top of the head to the chin between 32 and 36 mm.
  • Check the specific rule of your authority before uploading: some US forms want 2×2 inches, which is the US passport size preset.

Why it is private

Frequently asked questions

Is 413×531 the right pixel size?
35×45 mm at 300 dpi is 413×531 pixels; at 600 dpi it is 827×1063. Both are presets here. If the form asks for a different size, pick a ratio and type the width and height instead.
Can I print it?
Yes. The 600 dpi size prints sharp at 35×45 mm. For a print sheet with several photos, place the crops on an A4 or 10×15 cm page in any editor.
