Fill a PDF form in your browser
This page opens the PDF editor with the form tool selected. Drop a form and its fields appear as boxes you can type in, tick or choose from: single- and multi-line text, one character per box, checkboxes, radio buttons, lists and drop-downs. Each value is written into the file together with how it looks, so the filled form opens the same way in other PDF programs, on a computer or a phone.
The file stays on your device: the editor downloads its own code once, then opens, fills and saves the PDF in your browser, keeping a draft of your work in this browser only. On saving it re-reads the new file and confirms that every value is there before offering the download.
You can also change a line of the printed text where its font allows it; otherwise the substitute is shown before saving. Fields can be added too, to a form that has none or to any PDF, and a field's name, options, colours or place can be changed; a certified document refuses that until you save a copy without signatures. Fields with calculation or formatting scripts can be filled, but the scripts never run here, so the value is saved exactly as typed.
Tips
- Letters the field's font lacks (such as ș or ã) are written with a substitute font; the editor names them before you save.
- A digitally signed form can usually still be filled: the values are added without touching what was signed, and the editor says on opening what the signature allows.
- Add field puts a new field where you drag a box: text, checkbox, radio button, list or drop-down, signature; radio buttons with the same name form one group.
Why it is private
Everything you type or drop here is handled by your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded. To verify, open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and use the tool: you will see no request carrying your data.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the filled form work in other PDF programs?
- Yes. The values and their appearance are in the file, so other programs show them without recalculating anything; a field that depends on a script shows what you typed.
- Can I change the printed text of the form?
- Yes, line by line, where the form's font allows it: the line is rewritten with the original font and the rest of the page stays as it was. If a letter you type is not in that font, the editor shows the line with a substitute font before you save. Text that is part of a picture cannot be changed; cover it or write next to it.
