Turn a photo into a scanned PDF

The document is already in your gallery, photographed on the kitchen table with your shadow across it, and the form says "scanned copy". This page takes JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC photos, finds the page in each one, straightens it, evens out the lighting and whitens the paper, so the result looks like it came out of a flatbed scanner. The PDF is made in your browser; the photos are not uploaded anywhere.

Scan a document

Use the camera or choose photos of documents (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC). Everything stays on this device.

Hold the phone straight above the page

Tap Choose photos, select them in the order you want, and look at the result page by page: the Auto filter picks Natural for colour documents and anything with a stamp or a signature, Black & white for plain text; the before/after view shows what changed. If an edge was missed, drag the corner with the magnifier. Then choose the page format (A4, Letter, or Auto, which estimates the paper from the photo) and save.

Pick the Small (e-mail) size when the file goes by e-mail, and tick Searchable text if the recipient will need to search or copy from it.

Tips

  • iPhone HEIC photos are accepted and decoded on this device.
  • A photo where the page runs out of the frame can only be as complete as the photo: a cut corner stays cut. Retake it with the camera if you can.
  • Grainy low-light photos: Grayscale is often more readable than Black & white, which turns noise into specks.
  • Pages in the wrong orientation: Check pages proposes a rotation; nothing turns until you confirm.
  • Up to 100 pages per scan, kept on this device between sessions.

Why it is private

Everything you type or drop here is handled by your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded. To verify, open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and use the tool: you will see no request carrying your data.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference from JPG to PDF?
JPG to PDF puts the photo on a page as it is. Here the page is found, straightened, cleaned and resized to a paper format, and the file can carry searchable text.
Does it change the content of the document?
No. The filters adjust lighting, contrast and colour over the original and can be reverted; nothing is drawn over text, and the original photo is always kept.
Can I sign it afterwards?
Yes: the Sign annotation draws your signature into the page before saving, or pass the PDF to Sign PDF with Continue with.
