Scan a whiteboard to PDF with your phone

The meeting ends, the board is full and someone is already reaching for the eraser. This page opens the scanner with the Natural filter, which keeps the colours of the markers (the red for the deadline, the green for what was agreed) while evening out the lighting, and lets you photograph the board from an angle and still get a straight rectangle. The PDF is made in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Scan a document

Use the camera or choose photos of documents (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC). Everything stays on this device.

Stand square to the board and avoid glare

The detector looks for the edges of the board; on a wall-sized board or one without a frame, drag the four corners yourself, with the magnifier, onto the corners of the writing area. Large boards: photograph them in halves and keep each half as a page.

A dedicated whiteboard mode, with marker strokes thickened and the grey of a badly wiped board removed, is being built; today you get the general cleaning: straight, evenly lit, colours kept.

Tips

  • Stand so that the ceiling lights are not reflected in the board: move a step to the side rather than closer.
  • Natural keeps the colours; try Black & white on a board written only in black, and compare before/after before deciding.
  • Save as PNG per page (ZIP) instead of PDF if the picture goes into a wiki or a chat: one image per board.
  • Add a Text annotation with the date and the topic before saving; next week nobody remembers which board this was.
  • Hold the phone still for a moment: the auto-capture waits for a sharp, stable picture.

Why it is private

Everything you type or drop here is handled by your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded. To verify, open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and use the tool: you will see no request carrying your data.

Frequently asked questions

Does the filter make the board white and the text black?
Natural evens out the lighting and keeps the marker colours. Black & white gives a plain black-on-white result; both can be compared with the original at full zoom.
Can the tool read the handwriting on the board?
No. Searchable text works for printed text only; a whiteboard stays a picture.
Is the photo uploaded?
No. The board is processed in your browser and kept only in this browser's storage on your device until you tap Start over.
