Location QR code generator
A location QR code holds a latitude and longitude in the standard geo: format. When scanned, the phone opens its maps app centred on that spot, ready for directions. It is the simplest way to send people to an exact entrance, a parking spot, a stand at a fair or a meeting point in a park, where a street address would be vague or non-existent.
Many codes at once (batch)
One value per line, or a CSV (first column); up to 1,000 codes, downloaded as a ZIP with the current style.
Fill in the details to generate the code.
Copy the coordinates from Google Maps or OpenStreetMap (right-click the spot), paste them here and download the code. Everything is generated in your browser: no account, no tracking, and because the coordinates live in the image, the code never expires.
Tips
- Use decimal degrees with at least five decimals (44.42681, 26.10254): that is about a metre of precision.
- Check the spot on a map before printing; a swapped latitude and longitude lands in the ocean.
- Print a short caption with the place name: the code itself only shows numbers when read.
Why it is private
Everything you type or drop here is handled by your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded. To verify, open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and use the tool: you will see no request carrying your data.
Frequently asked questions
- Which maps app opens?
- The phone's default: Apple Maps or Google Maps on iPhone, Google Maps or the chosen app on Android. The geo: format is understood by all of them.
- Can I add a label or a zoom level?
- The plain geo: format carries only the coordinates, which is what every scanner understands. For a labelled pin, use the link type with a Google Maps or OpenStreetMap URL instead.
